Hi After genuinly letting my MOT expire (oops, I knew I should of checked earlier - its only a few days out), its booked in for tomorrow morning. Now, Given that last year, i took it in with a diff handbrake, and non working DRL, im happy this time, as everything seems to be in perfect working order. All lights work, tyres are fine, handbrake works well. The only thing im worried about, is the rear windscreen wiper. It doesnt seem to make proper contact with the window at the top, so it kinda wipes 70% of the window, apart from the top bit. Its probably a simple enough fix, but given im working till half 10 tonight, dont have much chance to have a look. Will this slight problem cause an MOT fail? The wiper, at the end of the day, still wipes the screen, just not that well :D It was replaced last year for the MOT, and has been seldom used since, so the blade is fine. Think the wiper arm is about knackered though, hence why it doesnt see to be making proper contact with the screen. Thanks :)

Last time I looked they were not part of the test so unless it's changed in the last month or so your ok, but worth fixing surely? :) Cheers

aye, the Rear windscreen wiper is not part of the MOT. However it's considered dangerous / loose bits etc then it could fail on that. vipes

I thought that if a rear wiper is fitted it has to be in good working order, i.e if its not working properly snap it off so its not fitted at all!
