With the advent of the Internet, training has become more accessible and convenient. Paid and free platforms-intermediaries for conducting online training such as Wiziq.com and Webinar2.ru have appeared. Through them, trainers and students of online courses interact. There can be several hundred people at one lesson at the same time. Each of them can ask the lecturer a question in real time via chat. Maria Savchenko, curator of online courses on promotion in social networks, told us about how to make money on online courses. Four years ago, she worked as a marketer in a training company. After a long business trip to Chelyabinsk, Savchenko quit to start her own business. “I first encountered Facebook when I was working on promoting training programs. And I decided to study the potential of social networks,” the entrepreneur recalls. Create demand At that time, SMM was just emerging in Ukraine, and there was no one to learn from. Savchenko studied materials from foreign sources and tested their effectiveness in the CIS countries. "What the gurus recommended didn't work in 90% of cases, and I realized that I had to come up with something myself," says Savchenko. She formed a team of five people and began working on the course. After developing the seminars, they were announced on social networks. "Initially, the course was aimed at young people. But as soon as the announcements started and invitations appeared, the first reaction was from people in business," says Savchenko. This is how the Internet Culture company was created. However, the demand for training was insufficient. Therefore, the project had to be promoted in different ways. One of them is cooperation with discount resources Pokupon, Groupon, etc. "These sites have a large subscriber base, among which there is also a target audience for online courses," explains Savchenko. A one-day introductory live training was developed specifically for working with them. It talked about additional features of social networks and invited people to more advanced courses. Three years later, the core team of five people was formed. All employees work remotely. "I want the people who work with me to be able to manage their time. Each of the teachers is an expert in their field and does what they teach in life," says Savchenko. In 2014, Internet Culture moved its courses online. "It became impractical to conduct live trainings in Kyiv. People were afraid of the unstable situation in the country," explains Savchenko. Before switching to online courses, Internet Culture already had experience holding webinars. They were used to attract clients to live trainings. "Ukraine is currently adapting to online training. So far, it is not as in demand as offline," says Savchenko. Savchenko's team currently teaches promotion on Facebook, Vkontakte, Instagram, Google+, Linkedin and YouTube. The course program is adjusted to new trends and client needs. Trends are tracked empirically. "In four years, we have formed an SMM agency. We also have an information resource where we publish interesting materials about SMM and business in general,” says Savchenko. They have programs on contextual advertising and content marketing. “All the courses we create must be practical and useful,” Savchenko explains the team’s operating principle. The “Internet Culture” online courses are a series of webinars with homework assignments. The course participant learns from their own project and receives feedback on each assignment. After completing the training, the participant has an effective strategy for promoting their product in a specific social network. In order to effectively manage the team and conduct online courses, Savchenko is constantly learning: she attends business trainings, studies ontopsychology, reads famous foreign SMM specialists, for example, Rebekah Radis and Mary Smith. 2 ways to make money on online courses To make money on online training, you need to decide: on the topic of the online course and what language to teach it in "The topics on the courses should be practical and useful so that a person can recoup the cost of these courses," Savchenko explains. with the target audience It is important to know exactly who the target audience of your online course is, otherwise there is a chance that you will not gather a group. how to reach the audience and what tools are most effective for promoting courses This can be contextual advertising, advertising on social networks or a series of free introductory webinars.
