The research company IDC Ukraine conducted a study of the data center and cloud market. According to its data, clouds have grown by 47%. The share of Ukrainian providers has increased to 57%, compared to last year, when their share was 45%. The Ukrainian market's awareness of cloud solutions shows stable growth rates. This year, 79% of surveyed IT managers rate their knowledge of cloud solutions as good and excellent, and in 2014 and 2013, the same figure did not exceed 61% and 45%, respectively. The majority (70%) consider cloud technologies to be strategically important for business development, and this is reflected in the decision model for their use. If last year the issue of using cloud services was decided mainly by the IT department (56%), now such decisions are made with the participation of financial services and other business units in 52% of companies. Among the most significant benefits obtained through the use of cloud technologies, Ukrainian users note increased availability of IT (50%), reduced costs (48%), and flexibility and scalability of resources (44%). 39% of respondents rent provider clouds, slightly fewer (36%) are supporters of hybrid infrastructure, working with rented cloud capacities and private clouds. Those who prefer to use exclusively their own cloud infrastructure (25%) are in the minority. It is interesting that those who decide to implement clouds have become less afraid of such services. Microsoft Azure is in first place in terms of trust, De novo is in second place, and Amazon is in third place. "The annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbass have increased customer interest in cloud services, and the increased cost of foreign resources due to the devaluation of the hryvnia provokes a search for affordable domestic alternatives. As a result, even by the most conservative estimates, last year the sales volume of IaaS/SaaS cloud services increased by 47% to $8.5 million," notes Vladimir Pozdnyakov, regional manager of IDC in Ukraine. The market is gradually becoming more mature. According to Pozdnyakov, the transition to a new stage is happening, first of all, due to changes in the consciousness of consumers, understanding the advantages of cloud solutions, especially given the growing importance of the speed of project implementation, their scalability and flexibility. "We are constantly growing, regardless of what is happening in the market," says Maxim Ageyev, CEO of De novo. According to him, this year the cloud market will grow due to the segment of large and medium-sized enterprises. Small businesses should not be counted on. Another potential growth factor is the public sector. If this year the authorities do start launching cloud projects, then the main players in the cloud market will fight for this segment. According to the results of the first quarter of 2015, the dynamics of sales of cloud services De novo increased by 237%, compared to the same period last year. In many ways, this is due to the fact that companies are forced to reduce their IT costs and, at the same time, ensure adequate business operation. In addition, many companies from the East of Ukraine have moved their data to the capital.
