got it workin with this and joy2key I did a vocal recording session yesterday and lemme tell you... I will never use a mouse to run a DAW EVER again!!! I need me a mouse like yours OP... The amount of tricks that can be pulled off that gaming pad is CRAZY!! Use Ctrl/Alt/Shift/Enter on the 4 buttons in the front to multiply the number of functions on the white buttons

I wonder why can't one simply put in the script what CC you want at which button? :( They didn't make it really easy for us. I'm not a programmer, too. For instance, instead of playing the notes, I'd like to use the buttons to control transport controls. It's so obvious and I wonder why nobody thought about it. I've got Logitech Dual Action gamepad, and it's got nice red, green, yellow and blue buttons that simply becon you to use them as transport buttons. :) I have no idea how to "program" that and it's driving me mad. They should have made it much more simple. Like, in the worst case, that you have to edit some *.cfg or *.ini file and write something like Button1=CC50 Button2=CC51 XAxis1=CC73 XAxis2=CC74 ... Now that's very easy to understand, innit? :)) I mean, gamepads are so handy and cheap, why not using them properly in Reaper? ;) I really tried to understand those scripts, and I'm not so new to programming, but there's no way I could figure it out how to simply assign at least those 4 buttons to different CCs so I could control the transport with them. Playing notes with them is absurd! :)I've got a MIDI keyboard for that... Cheers!

Dux, were you ever able to use your gamepad as a transport controller? I also have a Logitech Dual Action gamepad, and I would like to use it as a transport controller (although, I would like to use it as a surface controller, too, selecting tracks and then moving the sliders and faders).

I was able to use it *either* as a transport controller or a synth controller, but not both at the same time as this would imply "fusing" the two scripts "generic" and the one in this thread together somehow. I was actually on my way of doing it, and I even figured out the programming language somewhat, but I got distracted with work and forgot about it. :( Thanks for reminding me. I might just finish the "fusion project" and then post it here when I find the time. ;) My goal is to use a gamepad to control the transport with red, blue, green and yellow buttons, next and previous track with "<" and ">" buttons, and all analog and digital joysticks for CC messages to synths so I could control whatever the parameters I want in real time rather than putting them in by hand [mouse]. ;) In other words, I will use the parts of "generic" script for controlling the transport, and parts of "logitech gamepad" script for CC messages, if I remember correctly. I have a keyboard to play notes. Who's "brilliant" idea was that to play notes with the gamepad. lol It would really be infinitely more useful to send out CC messages of your choice, or preset choice, doesn't matter, but CC messages, not notes. Probably left analog joystick for pitch and modulation wheel, and right joystick for CCs from 70-74. Yeeah, that would be awesome. Cheers!
