Hello folks, Is there a freeware VSTi sampler with round robin ability? Would be great to build e.g. natural sounding drum sample libraries and offer them for free.
indeed Sfz really kicks ass. the possibilities are incredible. here is a format reference and here is an editor here is a free SFZ instrument, a multisampled Djembe, that uses velocity AND round robin. It sound's really natural, try it! Are Multiple Outputs possible with one instance of SFZ VST?

Are Multiple Outputs possible with one instance of SFZ VST? I don't think so....if you are using Dimension Pro you can.

I think round robin could be achieved with this plugin: --- Play a MIDI file one step at a time with timing based on input notes. Each time the trigger note is received, all notes at the next "step" (or next group of notes starting at the same approximate time) will be played. Can play 16 differet patterns independently. Load MIDI files with drag and drop, or draw them in the piano roll, or record them live. Supports MIDI Program Change for selecting slots. --- So you could have e.g. a pattern with a 16 note scale, so every time you'd hit the trigger note the midiStep plugin would play the next note and thus a different sample. And if you would us e a random note plugin on the output of midiStep you could have random round robin instead of a 16 note scale.
There is a JS script that does this as well, that I use. MIDI Channel Switcher or something like that? That said, if you want RR switching and a more modern VSTi than SFZ, register an account at the Garritan site and get ARIA.
