hi again, well it's like this! compared to the avi, you cannot improve the quality no matter how high you turn up the bitrate. the only thing you can change by using a higher bitrate is to reduce the loss of quality. also it pretty much depends on the source , if it is a dark movie, or maybe has a lot of fast action scenes in it. anyway, the only real way for you to find out is to try. make a test encode, check the results, if you like them, keep it, if you do not like them, do another encode. hth steVe
