Hi Im still testing Reaper, and got a nice surprise today, I reopened a song, and most of my midi data was gone. I guess it's called midi, but it's just sequencer notes. It seems it's because I deleted some .mid files, because I used ghosting (?) It doesn't make sense to me, I save the song they are there, on screen, then I find some mid files here and there. Why is there's no "cubase ghosting" system (shift to copy, ctrl to ghost). I guess there's no way to get my data back ? Cheers

Can you recover the MIDI files from the Recycle Bin? or a disk backup? Or ...? IF not, then they are gone, sorry. Using ghosting, the MIDI clips are indeed written to MIDI files on disk. If those files are subsequently deleted then Reaper will not be able to load them. If you have saved your project and therefore created a project directory, then the MIDI files will then be saved in that directory. So there should be less chance of them being accidentally deleted.

Thanks for answering. They are gone then :) Well, I don't understand this "feature", why those midi files are not embedded into the project file doesn't make sense to me.
