I'm trying to insert an mp3 as a new track, but Reaper is showing that mp3's are not supported when I try to "Insert Media File" only .wav and AIFF....any suggestions? Anything would help...Thanks Tim

Tim - Reinstall Reaper. Make sure you select the option "Compressed Audio Formats" when you get to that screen, and make sure all individual formats in that group are also selected. P.S. Welcome! :)
