I only have a couple hundred bucks to spend and heard it was a great mic - I know musiciansfriend.com has it for 179.99 - does anyone know who can beat that?

well for $179.00 the nt 1 is well worth it. the nt-2 is also nice, but it costs a little bit more. to compare prices go here-

For the record.... I love my NT1. I haven't had as much experience with high end mics as some, but I love the way the Rode sounds. As with any mic, it isn't an "end all be all" but it does a respectable job on a variety of recording tasks.
