Hi, I need to re learn music production software, having not used this type of thing for over a decade. I am mainly interested in recording dance/house tunes, so creating drum loops, adding basslines, synth melodies and samples. I am currently trying Reaper with a view to purchase, but where on Earth do I start? Some links to basic tutorials specifically for creating and adding drum loops etc,would be a good start for me. Also are there some demo songs I can download to see how they are constructed? Running on Win7.

Here you can find the demo project: Other than that it is an easy way: Open reaper, open media explorer (VIEW-Media Explorer), pull a few samples on a few tracks, set a loop with the time selection, play. Edit as you like. Here is a youtube video showing a way to start.
