I would like to get an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile for field work. Is my G4 Titanium laptop with a gig of ram and a 500 mhz processor enough to run this software? Many thanks.

Anyone using such a machine for M-Powered? I have read the system req's on the Web site. It says a 933 is needed. However, Garageband, for example, is supposed to require at least a 667 G4 Titanium but it works just fine on my 500. So, I'm just wondering if any of you have had M-Powered working on less than the minimum machine listed by Digi. If not, it looks like it's the awful M-Box for my mobile needs. I, like many others, wish that Digi would provide some sort of "key" or dongle to use PTLE without the hardware. Whichever route I take, the hardware will be just a big dongle so I can use the software. It's really too bad that Digi doesn't provide some options in this area considering the many posts and requests about just such a feature. Regards. (I guess this was just a lengthy "bump".)

i have run Pro Tools LE with the Digi001 and the Mbox (not at the same time obviously) on my 500mhz Titanium no problem. Full record and playback track count. but i upgraded the internal drive to a 7200rpm drive (toshiba). also, the limitations will be on the plug in count. that's where you need higher spec'd machines, running more plugs.

OK, that's some encouraging information. Thanks to NHH and Cheeky Paul. However, before I buy the box, I would like to, if possible, hear from someone who has had firsthand experience with running MPowered on ANY laptop less than the 933 listed on the Digi website. Or Digi could just pipe in with a definitive YES or NO! How 'bout it Digi? Help a guy out? Also, if I purchased this at, say a Guitar Center, could I return it if it didn't work? Regards.

Thanks for the info duene. If you can run the software on a PB 800 then perhaps there is hope. Also, a friend just bought the MPowered PT with a 410 interface. I'm going to see if my 'puter will run this config. Many thanks.
