Managing modulation can be quite a chore, requiring opening of multiple fx windows and digging through menus, remembering what's modulating what etc. I think we need a way to see at a glance what parameter modulation is in effect across the whole project and easy access to the relevant controls. My initial idea is a new page in the project bay which would:List all parameters of all plugins across all tracks that have non-default modulation settings, the modulation source and whether modulation is enabled. It should definitely list the individual parameters, not just the plugins. Provide quick method to access the modulation settings. Provide a quick way to enable/disable specific modulations. Provide a quick way to access the plugin whose parameter is being modulated. Any thoughts?
Yes please. One question though. I often use gmem to link parameters across different tracks. Would it be possible to show where these are coming from/going to? Steve

Hey IXix, I'm sure you are aware of this, but just in case. You have access to modulations through the envelope manager or what ever it's called. As you see in the pic below the Length parameter of the ReaDelay plug has mod assigned. You can disarm it by ticking the box or open the mod's window by clicking on mod. The envelope manger list all parameters of all plungins on that track. So it looks like we already have most of what your looking for. My suggestion would be simply to improve upon this window by adding a box or a dropdown where you could enter/select the track you wanted access to or maybe have tracks represented has tabs and as a new track has fx added then a new tab is also added. Now as far as this point of yours.., "Provide a quick way to access the plugin whose parameter is being modulated." the devs could make it so that when you double click on the FX name it's interface would popup. One thing I would like is the ability to doc the Parameter Modulation windows.., this way we could have quick access to just the ones we want to dock.
Actually I'd forgotten about that so thanks for reminding me, but I still say we need a dedicated overview of all modulation across the whole project. The track envelope dialogs get way too cluttered when there are even a small number of plugins on a track and trying to spot which ones are modulated is enough to give a guy a headache. Adding a track select control might be convenient but it wouldn't make it much easier to manage modulation across the whole project.
Ya.., I agree it does get cluttered. You can click on the '-' next to the FX name and it will collapse. So what I would like to see changed about this dialog window is that when you open it all FX are collapsed. The other thing is we have the filter box which you can enter for example "Length" and it will only show the parameters with "Length" in their title.., so what we need is some sort of keyword we could type in the filter box that would only list the parameters with assigned modulation, not just "mod" as that is commonly used in parameter titles. I would also love it if the learn button had a box next to it that showed what MIDI CC was assigned with the option to enter a different one via keyboard. The dialog could also use a global filter, as the ones there now are per FX.

Have we had any progress on the PM front ??? This is a powerful feature ... but we need an clearer way to see everything on one page as proposed. I'm designing 'virtual controller plug' that is linked to 10 plugins so that all 10 are controlled from this single interface. PM linking them within a single page would make things much easier to do and confirm. VOTED !!! thank-you
