I have 10 songs I want to mix. Is there a way to mix one of the songs, and then apply that mix - plugins and all - to the other song files? Is that called automation?

Well no.it is not automation but, You CAN do what you want as far as plug in's Set up your plug in's the way you want them and save the set-up as a temp-plate(call it FX set-up or somthing) When you open this temp-plate the FX will be all lined up and ready to go for you. Just import the audio and away you go! Automation is a really cool deal all together. Say you want thee vocals to come down at certain spot, You ride your mixer's volume fader and the Reaper automation will remember the move's and do it all by itself the next time. Look up "automation" in the manual and try it out. Bardo

Awesome... I just mixed the first song and saved it as a template, removed the tracks, and imported the next set of tracks. Works great! You just saved me a lot of time!
