I know bandwith has been an issue so I would like to suggest a partial solution. , a gnutella client, is capable of creating links to the gnutella network and finding the exact file the link was created for (verified with SHA1 hash). By creating these web links, and possibly including the doom9 url as a permenant location, doom9 can save a goog deal on bandwith and still provide the same access to its files. Go to: For creating gnutella links (called magnets) go to:

You simply create a new magnet when the new file is created. Since the magnet is the sha1 of the file it is specific for the file you create the magnet for.

Hmm, maybe you didnt get it, but you place the magnets on the web page, just like links, users click on them and the file is downloaded using shareaza or other gnutella clients that support magnets.

I'm slowly getting it. :) So every user that wants to download something must have a gnutella client installed? Aren't you asking for too much? (perhaps I still haven't got it...)
