I've done several DVD's using TRILIGHT's guide and have had limited success with subtitles - and tend to think I'm doing something wrong as they usually don't work on the finished product. You're supposed to right click on the subtitle timeline and select "Import Subtitle File", correct? And this is done on the first area? They subs show up and I can view them in Maestro, it even prepares them when the DVD is compiled but they never work... Any ideas?

u can view them as rectangles in timeline or actually view them overlayed on the movie in the preview window. Something tells me that u can not view the on the movie. U must have the primary colors mixed up. If that is the case read the following thread on Ifoedit forum :)

When you say it doesn't work on the final product, could you elaborate a little more. Is the subtitle not showing up? even after you select the subtitle options in the setup menu or are you hitting the subtitle button on the remote to try and bring up the subtitles? If it is the second one then, you need to turn on the subs in the setup or remove the user restrictions that forbids you from accessing the subs during play.

Thanks for the information. To be more specific, they are not showing up at all. The only movie I really had success with was The Perfect Storm - and I remember placing the subtitle files in the 1-6 subtitle positions just messing around. You're right, I can view them overlayed in the preview window and on the timeline but never on the authored DVD. I'll very the primary colors as this is the most likely source of my problem. Thanks again. J
