OK we have reaconsole that will add or append specified characters to a track name... But... is there some fast way to remove some characters from a set of selected track names? for example... we might have 10 tracks, like so: Guitar 1 - the big project we did Bass 1 - the other little project they did etc, etc. and we want to remove all the ending characters and just leave Guitar 1, Bass 1... So I think what I'm looking for might an action or script that would remove the last character from the track name, and that would do so for any number of selected tracks... Given that tool, I could just run it repeatedly to get the job accomplished... you see? thanks for help :)

will test and brb was gone away for some hours...:) OK... tested... yes, I like the "last word" method... so here's a name example that I'm dealing with: Flute - Symphony No I Mvt I Grand Final Done and I want to end up with Flute or Flute- So, the Last word script runs 8 times and that is fine... and I AM happy with it... I never know what is possible with scripting so I just branzenly ask, and hope you don't mind: You can see that although these scripts work beautifully, I can't help thinking it would be totally elegant to have the script ask "how many characters do you want to remove?" and in this case I'd tell it 37 [which includes the space character] and that would be a tool that would fit all occassions... right? ...you see, I'm just stuck with no knowledge and too much imagination... :D Oh, and yes, ...any thoughts about appending a string we type in at the front of the track name? Please do forgive my ignorance... I realize I might be asking for what could seem ridiculous...
