My 93' 940 sedan (3speed auto) has 265k mi and overdrive problems. Often, the dashboard red arrow lights (whether I'm stopped for a red light or in transit) resulting in downshifting. Clicking the od switch on shifter knob usually does nothing, whether key in 2nd position or when engine is running. While driving, I can pull over stop/restart engine & all is well for a time. I'm thinking bad relay? Unfortunately, my search for a new relay returns 2 options: with or without kickdown lock. What is "kickdowndown" lock & how do I know which one to get? Hi, The part number should be on the relay to be replaced. It may be an older part number and a quick query with the dealer can clarify the part number and whether it has been replaced with a new part or part number.. Des. . . ;)

Pulled & replaced my od relay- Shift problems continue. Repairman says will fix for $200. I noticed this od bypass plate at ipd: I wonder if anyone in this forum has used it with success? Thanx, prothirty6
