Hello there, I was just wondering... I often use Folders for automatic routing of several MIDI tracks to the same Vsti. Very fast to setup. But sometimes I would find it very cool if I could simply use the "folder" to collapse/expand the view, and ignore the automatic routing. That would be for example to group several tracks that were different "tries" or "ideas".

You can collapse/expand the tracks under the folder by clicking on the top left icon in the folder track, but it does nothing to change the routing as far as I'm aware.

Yep I know how to collapse folders... and this is exactly the feature I need... but I would like to bypass the automatic routing thing which I don't want, because it messes things up. Ideally it would be a simple check box somewhere on the parent folder (automatic routing of children: on/off)

I don't know if there's a simple way to do that but i do it by unchecking the sends in the routing matrix. Michael

You can uncheck "send to parent/master" and then send the child tracks directly to the master. But no, there's no automatic way to do it.

Drew is exactly right. Routing should all be in one place - creating a folder with routing should create the folder and create sends from all the children - easy peasy. Then an preference 'folders automatically route children" and ... a bunch of actions: 'create folder containing selected track(s) with/without automatic routing' 'create/remove sends from children of selected folder track' + even 'create folder containing selected tracks with VCA control of children"....
