No matter what I try with ifoedit, I cannot make the files play off of my HD when they have region encoding. I have tried the region free button and have tried everything from leaving everybox unchecked to checking every region to leaving just region 1 checked, but none of them work. Only the discs that are already region free will play off of the HD. Universal and Fox are especially bad. If I make an iso and load it up to my virtual dvd it will play fine, but never right off the HD. How can I correct this? I would like to preview my files before going through making an iso.

You have tried many ways of making region free the .IFO files. They may be corrupted. I suggest you to rip again the .IFO from the DVD disc using SmartRipper uncheking its Region Free check box and write over the .IFO files in the hard drive. Then use IFO EDIT only to make region free following the guide in the IFOEDIT home page. With this all must work fine

Hi I have also had this problem, with DVD Decrypt you can do region patch on one file, this is a pain if your have to do loads but it does work. Mancubas. PS: Have any of you been able to split a DVD movie (BACKUP) onto 2 DVD-R's..

Yes, I've been able to split to 2 DVDs. The easiest way is to split evenly the main movie and copy the extras to both discs, otherwise you have to adjust the number of titlesets in the ifo file.

Are you asking for an easy movie? I just did True Lies and that turned out fine. Use ifoedit and split VOB 3 onto 2 dvds, copy all other files (including VOB 3_0) into both directories, and that will do it. Be sure to follow the guide and change the chapter numbers.

Hi Yes mate I was asking for a easy movie! Would you class True Lies as a easy split. How exactly do you modify the chapter numbers, I am currently trying to backup Star Wars Episode 1 R1 onto 2 DVD-R's, I think the changing of chapter numbers is my problem Thx.

You go under VIDEO_TS.ifo and under VMG_PTT_SRPT go to the main movie title (which is usually Title 1) and double click on Title_1: Number of chapters (PTT): You have to adjust the number of chapters in each disc. If you forget where you split the dvd at, go under the main video ifo and see what it says for (programs); that's the number of chapters in that disc. Do that for both discs.
