I have an Xvid video stream and an Ogg Vorbis audio stream. I downloaded the Gordion Knot package, and I read in one of its help files that nandub (or virtual dub, I can't remember offhand though I remember the one was only for divX encoding) can be used to multiplex the audio and video. When I try to open the vorbis stream the program crashes though - has anybody had a smiliar problem? Must I get diff. softwaer to multiplex XVid with Ogg Vorbis audio? Any help would be much appreciated.. Ta.

hi bony before posting a new thread plz always read the doom9 guides, than search the forum and than you would know that you can only use xvid + ogg in the matroska or in the ogm container format (which can be both muxed in virtualdubmod)

If the audio was mp3,then u can mux it to avi in Nandub. This can also be done using Vdub/VdubMod.The advantage of VdubMod is u can mux different kinds of audio formats(ac3/dts/Ogg/mp3)in different containers(AVI/MKV/OGM).Please note that muxing Ogg to avi is currently impossible and ac3/mp3/dts are the popular formats that can be muxed to AVI. it might be a bit misleading or off topic, but i once was muxing xvid and vorbis in vdubmod - somehow (dunno how exactly) i got an avi in the end, and there was no problem playing this (on comp, surely not on any standalone)! avi demultiplexer was triggered and xvid-dec an vorbis-dec from oggds... so, urm, why is it said not to be possible to do this? i know that this is not conform to any standart, but yeah, is avi conform anyways (thinking of vbr audio and so on). ;) seen p.s: i think i was aiming for ogg media...

well, i don't want to cross post so i'll stay here... i think i first forgot to change filetype to ogg media and got message that this wouln't be possible, then changed to ogg media and saved - thing is that filename was "blabla.avi" and vdubmod din't append .ogm or change to .ogm... as said this resulted in "blabla.avi", containing vorbis, which played back flawless. vdubmod version was 1.5.1.1a or one earlier. so much. maybe someone finds that an interesting behaviour. p.s: i have just re-done the described way, and it does really save as .avi...just that at playback ogg splitter is triggered, too - so maybe file structure is in fact ogm and only extension is avi...
