Sorry if there is something already done about this but I can't find anything so thought I'd ask. I saw an article yesterday from Music Radar which mentioned pitching toms in superior drummer to the key of the song and to the bassline notes. I know that both SD.02 and Ezdrummer 2 have a pitch knob but how would you know when your in the right key? It is probably a really daft question but I have to wear hearing aids now and my hearing just really sucks so is there a way to do it visually? (and easily) Thanks. This was the article

unfortunately, no. in a real drum setup what we actually tune is the overtone. we could use drum tuner for visual aid, but decision always comes from hearing. in virtual instruments workflow IMO i don't think it would be useful. sometimes it does, but many times otherwise. because tuning samples is actually tuning the whole sample pitch, which most of the time not as desirable as tuning real drums. and yes we always use our ear, to find the nearest overtone to song key. unless you want to go overboard and make some electronic sounding drum.

Thanks for the reply. I can't play drums to save my life so get my pleasure putting in midi notes here, there and everywhere. Wish these articles would actually show you how to do the things they mention rather than just assume you know how to do it.
