Not sure if someone has come across this or not, I've noticed my CPU level jump 50% or more when using the Pultec (version 7) EQP-1A, sometimes when switching to 10k sometimes 12k, other frequencies don't seem to be affected. This is with PT LE 7. Does this happen to anyone else?
Unfortuneately I can get this to happen consistently. This is the only plug-in (besides an instance of Sampetank 2.x on a different track) in the session. I've made a drumloop on a stereo audio track, pulled up the Drums 1 preset on the Pultec & my CPU spikes, changing from 12k to 10k brings it back to normal levels. Oddly enough, if I bring up the Bass preset & change to 12k my CPU stays normal. Wierd. Any suggestions (besides using a different eq )?
I can confirm this. I tried it out today. Everything runs fine untill you turn the frequency knob over to 12k and .....ZING.....my CPU spiked out to almost 100%. Theres definately something going on here as I'm sure I have different system specs. P4 1.8 850 chipset 512 RAM Win XP Home SP2 I'm gonna install the older version of the Pultec Bundle and see what happens and report back.
Just to update....I installed the last known version 4.2 and it has the same problem but this time occuring on the 10k and 16k frequency settings. This issue and my also discovering the meters/GUI issue with Smack tells me that maybe this could be a PT 7.0 issue and not the plugin.....?????

Skyflash, Thanks for confirming this, thought I was going mad. I haven't had much opportunity to play with Smack! yet, what problem were you noticing? My system is a Dell 8250 2.4GHz P4, 1G ram. Not the fastest & due to be upgraded (soon I hope) but I don't think it's the problem. Digi?
