I simply wish that Digidesign would stop fronting and stating that xyz works when clearly we users very often have evidence to the contrary. It makes me think that they test stuff on a single machine and only once... It would be so much nicer if they stopped for a second, fixed everything that's not 100% proper and told us they were working on the compatibility with the new x or y hardware. I'd much rather wait knowing that the problems I have are being addressed rather than hearing how they work with the latest dual core technology... it makes you kinda wonder a bit I think.

Thanks for the interesting information, mkosacek. Davec results like that make me appreciate my outdated "legacy" system more everyday.

Me too. Just updated the RAM, motherboard and CPU in my PT LE computer to an AMD 64 from a 3.0 P4 and get 32 + 30 on the davec versus 32 + 3. And the new board is dual core capable if and when. Cheers,

I saw it. Was a totally valid point. Weird how posts have been getting deleted lately. There's one from a couple of months back i'm very curious to see what came of it, it was bizzare, but totally intriguing. Couldn't find it after a couple of days. i won't even mention it here... How much impact do you guys think the 48k vs. 44.1 had to do with those DaveC results mkosacek got? The results show pretty good performance, but not stellar compared to some other systems out there. Do you think they'd have been more competitive at done at 44.1?

[quoteHey this looks familiar. LOL I started a thread two weeks ago about this and it was deleted. Maybe I struck a bad nerve but all I said was even though PTLE is qualified with dual processors and dual core, it is not supported at this time. Did anyone else see this thread before it was deleted? Thought maybe it just got lost in the stack of threads somewhere. Allen [/QUOTE] I've seen it and had a major comment ready, hehe, but it got deleted before i could even post it ;-) I think it got deleted when the word *CUBASE*( oeps did i really say it ?) came to subject in it hehe ;-)
