If you right-click the button which is marked "ar" (assuming you are using the default theme (skin) of Reaper - it is the leftmost button on the Track Control Panel), then comes up a menu. If you go down the menu, you see a menu-item "MIDI Input". If this is marked, a sub-menu will appear, listing all your MIDI-interfaces that are in your system. Now you choose the MIDI-interface, your keyboard uses when you want to play something into your MIDI-sequencer (Reaper/Reason, whatever). Now a sub-sub-menu appears with "All Channels", "Channel 1"... From this you choose the channel your Keyboard, that's connected to your MIDI-interface of the computer, sends on. HTH -Data

Done all that, enabled the oxygen keyboard and emu 0404 under midi devices. Selected under the menu you said but don't know what channel it should be under.

You just need one interface to enable. The one you use to connect your hardware-keyboard to the computer. If you select another, the previously selected gets unselected (on the track - not in preferences). Try to play something. If you hear anything. it's ok, if not, load a project that uses all 16 MIDI-channels. On one of the instruments you should hear something. -Data

I think i may have sorted, I went to a drop dow list about rewire or something and Reason was in there I got that up and in the track box selected A and B and it worked. I could hear sound and could record. Is that an ok alternative to use it with? Maybe i forgot to mention i am using both Reaper and Reason on same machine. Do you think i have done it right? I am in the UK, so sleep time for me. Got any links to any music you have made? Cheers,

As I understand it, you've done what I wrote, but I probably forgot that you have to set some things in Reason. It should show something like "ReWire slave mode" or such in the output panel at the top. I was assuming that you use it on the same machine. Well, if it works, it looks as if you've done it right. In the FX chain window you can set which Reason instrument will respond to which MIDI-channel. This will be important later if you use more instruments. I am in Germany and especially today I had some problems translating my thoughts to English. I don't have links to my music yet, but I'm working on a major project (well, major for me, not in terms of any involved label or so). It's a just piece of music, that gets longer and longer. It will take some time until it's finished. But if you're interested, you can have a look at the homepage of the band I'm in . -Data
