There seem to be two schools of thought right now concerning new Mac purchases: 1. Buy now. On Jan. 1 all Macs will be OSX only, and you need to run 9.2. I know PT 6 is coming out very quickly, but I have an 002 which won't be ready for 6.0 for several months still. 2. Wait til after Macworld on Jan. 6. Prices should come down and there should be some newer, faster CPUs. But then there's that nagging OS issue. I guess my question is, if I wait til after the first of the year, will Macs *no longer* be able to run 9.2, or is it just a matter of installing it myself on a partition? How easy is this process? btw, I'm looking to buy a Powerbook. Those 1 gHz models seem very tempting (but backordered from what I understand).
