I just got the Digi001 W/Protools LE. I keep getting this error: DAE error-Can not communicate with device -6009, or when I launch the program it loads up to DAE and freezes my hole system, even the mouse doesn't move. It's been like this for over a month and I still haven't been able to use this product. My setup is: AMD Thunderbird 800 ATX AMD75 Chipset(Award Bios) No Sound Card Viper Video Card 16MB 256 RAM 20GIG HD 7200 Rpm PCI Card for the Digi001 Can anyone help me? Please!

Hi- First, that is not an approved chipset.... doesn't mean you won't get it to work, but the only chipset approved by Digi for AMD is KT133.(See the "Compatibility" link at the bottom.) Have you tried searching the DUC windows archive for that error message? Good lick- <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>Originally posted by GTB Music King: I just got the Digi001 W/Protools LE. A double install of this driver can cause an issue as well as it sharing an IRQ with anything other than PCI steering. Keep it on IRQ 9 and in slot 3 on your board. Sometimes slot 2 or slot 4 are reserved for other functions and will couse the Digi to share with USB the modem or the video card if in slot 1. Read your bios manual and see how to set IRQ's for the digi in slot no#3. This is if the guy above me's advice does not help you. You should have it set up this way anyways for poper performance and stability. Justin

I have looked around and I found somthing simmilar but nothing to resolve the problem. You would think for something so expensive, it would give you less problems. I can't believe how many problems and incompatabilities there are with this thing!!! Thanks! If anyone else has the answer or troubleshooting ideas, please let me know....

Don't give up too soon. I have a KT133A chipset and all is fine. There were some issues, so here is a quick checklist to get you started. When the system boots, after the Win98 splash screen there is a quick DOS style text screen that shows the interfaces and the IRQ they are using. The 001 shows up as a Multimedia device. Make sure it is not sharing any IRQ's. You look like the system is pretty bare bones, just make sure 001 is not in the slot next to VGA card (typically these share IRQ's. Make sure that in the control panel (not exactly sure where), that your Hard Drive is using DMA mode. If your Motherboard has any extra stuff on it, shut it off. That means internal video, RAID, network, sound ... Check to make sure the card is recognized. In the start menu under ProTools menus, look for digitest and run it. Check the control panel -> system ->hardware tab, under multimedia (or sound), make sure the 001 card is configured properly (no yellow !). If it looks right, you can choose to delete this driver. Then when you reboot, it will find it again. Now when you run PTLE, it should work fine, but will ask for the serial number again. Sometimes after I install other software things get lost and I have to do this again (delete the driver, it finds it on reboot, and then enter the serial number). It happened when I installed ACID. Try these and good luck! Dave

Hey slot 3 is giving the card IRQ 10, not 9. I disabled all my com ports, parrallel port and USB Controller. Now the Digitest gives me no errors. All test passed. Now when i launch Protools LE in gives me this error: "DAE was unable to communicate with the audio hardware. Please save your session and restart your computer.(-6004)" What the hell does this mean? I still need help!

Nothing!!!! The video card thing is not working either. I disable the DMA off the hard drive and now it doesn't freeze. The mouse moves and PTLE stays on loading the DAE for a long time, then it give me "DAE error -9162". Then I enabled it again and were back into the freezing mode again. This is fustrating!!!!! Still need help!!!!
