It's not reaper anyway, it's REAPER. It's an acronym, like MIDI, or DAW. If you're going to google something, it might help if the correct search terms are used. >
In this context - charting "interest" by search data - name uniqueness has a lot to do with any drawing of conclusions from that data. Search for "Cubase" and you probably won't see anything not related to that product in the entire search result so the data is much more directly applicable to the product. The results are more concise because the name is unique. There is only 1 use of the word "Cubase" so you can assume that all searches for that word are in reference to the daw. It still doesn't tell you *why* the searches were made. You have to apply logic to other known historical or current facts to make some assumptions there. Anyway, my only point was that Scott's use of that chart there to make a point was slightly (probably unintentionally) disingenuous / misleading. Especially considering there has never been a need for anyone to search for a Reaper crack. :D
I wouldn't believe anyone except Justin on this. He said recently Reaper is going awesome and they are really enjoying themselves. Also, he has said in the past that if he did want to move on eventually, he would make sure it was in safe hands. Its his baby so I think he would want to finish it first. I cant see it slowing down anytime soon...maybe years. Thats MY prediction. :D
