Hi All. My '95 850 T5 is making horrible noises when steering at low speed - groaning like a sailing ship. It's sort of a sudden noise - but continuous - in that it happens at any point lock to lock, but go's groan-groan-groan not a long protracted noise if you see what I mean. As this happens at all points through the steering travel I've ruled out steering stops. It is definitely an under bonnet noise. Any guesses, anyone? This is driving me mad! Hi mate check the fluid level in the power steering see if its low also see if the fluid is airrated (bubbles and frothey) it sounds like their is air in the system, need any more help get in touch.good luck

just been out and checked levels - they are normal and no signs of frothing or bubbles.

there is a Universal joint as the steering rack goes thru the bulk head, by the pedals . This is probably dry and makng the noise. Make sure there is no play in the rack ( wiggle it )
