Interesting and timely. I was looking at the BX8a, non-deluxe monitors and stumbled across the Tascams (online, haven't heard them) but wasn't able to find much in the way of reviews.

I acquired a set of Wharfedale Pro Diamond 8.2, and have found them very good....plenty of resolution, and mixes are translating very very well. Worth an audition.... Tony

Well, generally when a question like "do you like these monitors" or "what soundcard should I buy" comes up, you are likely to read just as many positive answers as negative ones... After all, this is highly subjective: what I look for in a set of monitors may be radically different from the next guy. And on top of that, what type of music you make is a big factor in making a the right choice. Therefore it's always a good idea to audition before you buy. Anyway, the main job of your monitors is ofcourse not to sound pleasing, but to be accurate and leave you with a mix that translates well to others systems. In my experience, the VL-A5's do just that!

The tascams are a good choice. The yamaha hs-50's are another good choice but they are a bit more expensive.
