I never use XviD's credit feature, but this might be something people might want to do. If you save the credits clip at the highest quant (31), then open the saved file as the source and save it again at quant 31, and repeat, the repeated encoding/decoding will make the credits smaller each time. I took 5 mbs of credits down to 3.5 mbs after 5 cycles and the credits are still readable. While the savings aren't much, sometimes that last megabyte can be useful.

seems quite a lot of work for um well not much. i usually encode the credits as black screen. that is i adjust brightness to zero. this gives me always credits below 1mb.

Its interesting you bring this up TheXung. I have always felt contrary to popular practice of heavily quantizing the credits. Like kilg0r3 pionted out, the size of credits isn't a big deal. For me, I just encode the whole movie without de-emphasizing the credits, because they don't take up that much space and sometimes like you said, the credits are important. Remember, Xvid will automatically give low bitrate to the credits, because it is easy to encode it. Just a thought, Dali
