I'm having a world of problems, but here's a simple one: My sessions all went bad today. All of them. I can no longer route audio in, nothing comes from my audio card (it's not the card, spent lots of time with Paul from Lynx.) When I play my midi keyboard, routed to Reaper, a massive feedback loop immediately start, running through all tracks with external inputs. In desperation to solve this, after de-installing Reaper and installing v 3.161, I made a new test session from scratch. I dragged an audio file into it, and it played back fine, but still no way to route external audio into it. I ran this test session twice, then worked on some old sessions. The THIRD time I tried the tests ession, it hung, and the splash screen said: "initializing UI classes." Now this is happening with ALL my sessions. I re-installed reaper again. Still no good. How could all my session get corrupted at once? This makes no sense. HELP.

That's... bizarre. Any recent hardware/software changes that might have done something? Have you booted up another DAW to see if the issue Reaper-specific?
What happens if you rename reaper.ini to reaper.old? How do you "route" the midi keyboard into Reaper? What steps do you take to test this.. What happens if you attempt to use the builtin virtual keyboard? Karbo
Bump. Still nothing, except that one time. Again, EVERYTHING ELSE ON MY PC IS RUNNING FINE. Can't find the ini file, so I can't try Karbo's idea. This is nuts....
THANKS, NICHOLOS! -Now here's where it gets interesting: I'm running XP32. There is NO "Applications Support" folder in my documents folder. Nada. I kid you not. There were however two folders with my name, which happened the last time I re-install my OS. One is just my name and one has the name of my computer (my name + "live #1") wich I inputed when installing the OS. I just ignore the first one since there's nothing in there except a generic music folder. note: Odd as this is, my huge problems started long before this. that last OS install was just a desperate attempt to fix my distortion problem. Does this tell you anything?
