I have just purchased a brand new Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop Computer, with the hope of being able to use my ProTools LE/MBOX kit, which I purchased last November. As far as I can tell it should be well able to run ProTools, and it is listed as a recommended Laptop on the Digidesign website. Spec: 1GB of RAM Pentium M 1.73 GHZ 7200RPM 60GB Hard Drive ... etc However, after installing Protools LE 6.4 with MBOX, and starting it, I receive the following blue-screen error: 'A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. An attempt was made to execute no-executable memory.' This happens every time. I've tried ringing Digi tech support, but they won't help me, as my 3 months free support are over. I've also tried to update ProTools to ver 6.9, but found that I need to have version 6.7 installed to do so. However, I didn't receive version 6.7 of ProTools when I first bought it, even though I should have.... Any advice would be much appreciated. I've spent over 2000 euro on equipment that I can't use, so I'm starting to worry a little. Thanks D

you are probably using windows xp with service pack 2 right? Well if you are, I had the same problem. You have 6.4 but you can download the 6.4cs updates. That's what fixed it for me: It's kind of hard to tell at first glance, but there are 2 different updates on that page. The application update, and the plug-in update. Get both. Hopefully that should fix everything. I also installed updated PACE drivers, but i don't know if that was necessary to get rid of the blue screen error.

Trying to execute non-executable memory is the DEP problem. I think the DEP fix is in a sticky or all over threads from 6 months ago. It's easy!

Hey wsup. Would you happen to know the title of that thread with dep fix so i can do a search for it? I think i'm gonna power my computer up again tomorrow and try to see if i can fix it. I tried uninstalling pro tools and reinstalling like the manual says to do when you get the blue screen, but i keep getting the blue screen even after i reinstall it and try to launch it. What's good?:(
