Hi All, Just out of interest have any of the the owners of the above engines come up against the other? I'm guessing T6's are mostly autos....so auto vs auto which would come out on top and by how much ? TTFN IceBoy

The T5 by far , the T6 is not a nice engine, i consider it badly mapped and certainly not up to its claimed 272 bhp despite its extra weight .. It drinks fuel as well . so compared with the last 265 bhp T5 there is no comparison ..

But how about comparing the older models where the T5 had say 225 or 240 ?

still the same ! The T5 is a high pressure turbo and is always willing with plenty of raw power on tap . The T6 is a low pressure turbo , the turbochargers are tiny , and it is a lazy silky smooth effortless cruiser rather than a performance machine .. with an appetite for fuel ..
