the one in the photo is definitely not a v67g. but they're still good mics! crazy-good for the price, actually. don't know anything else about the other marshall mics though.

I've used an AKG C12 Tube in the past which was brown colored like the one pictured. I would say it's the C12. The C12 didn't work for all vocalist though. It seemed to work best with female vocals.....which by the way is what you have pictured there. On male vocals it was a bit too dull for my tastes. I also used it as a kick drum mic, and it was one of the best kick drum mics I ever used....but shhhhhhhhhh!!!! Don't tell anyone. I Don't want the studio owner of the studio I worked in to know I used his $5000 tube mic on a kick drum. :)

That's most def a C12. Great mic - worth 5k bones? Not sure. And her voice sounds amazing because her voice is amazing --- no 5000K mic can polish a bad voice, it would probably make a bad voice even worse. My 2cents.

That's NOT a C12. I should know, I own four. It looks to me like the AKG "The Tube," which was sold in the 80's. They are covered with a brownish sued, but maybe the pic's color is off. It could be a VR as well, also with the color being off. The "The Tube" was a horrible mic, not even slightly resembling the C12 in either the capsule nor the electronics. The VR's are quite nice, though not exactly as nice as the original. Close enough, if you aren't super-picky. I kind of prefer the Sound Deluxe copy, though, which cost less. The brass ring with this type of mic is the Telefunken 251, which uses the same capsule as the vintage C12, but a different cage and amplifier. It goes "Ka-BOOM."
