I am attempting to make basically a SVCD with AC3 audio and be able to burn 800+mb's. Almost exactly a Mini-DVD. My DVD player can play these in file mode, but I cannot use a VCD or SVCD header. I get video, but no audio. I can use a Mini-DVD header, but it will bypass the info and I just select the VOB off the Disc. I am using SpruceUp now to test. I want to be able to burn as large a file as possible. I have tried using the Mode2 CD Maker, but my DVD player will not read files burned with this. So basically my question is how do or can I burn this AC3 mpg file at a svcd size of 800+mb's? Is there anyway to edit the SVCD data portion so that it will bypass and directly read the mpeg? I want as little wasted space on the disc as possible. I don't care about menu's and would rather not have them. Thanks, Mark

I don't know the answer. However, I do know that the way SVCD fits more data onto a Cd is to use a pack size of 2348 (or thereabouts, I forget the exact number)instead of the VCd/DVD/data pack size of 2048 which uses up space with error correction stuff. Various image-burning apps, including nero I think, let you choose pack size.... so maybe that's a direction you could explore?

I think it's 2352. I have been going nuts trying to find something that will do this. I have read all the guides at Doom9, actually before I posted. Thanks though, Mark
