Just checked out the Tascam site... there are 3 versions ensemble, solo, and orchestra... orchestra with unlimited voices... with Rewire, VST FX and a new Gigapiano.. take that you sampletank/machfive/kontakt types! just kidding...

even when used as a ReWire slave app, you still have to use a GSIF soundcard or whatever. ..and i don't think any of Digi's hardware fits that bill.

Evidently, it also won't be out until April at the earliest. We'll have to wait and see how buggy it is. I've got GS 2.5.x running on two machines. Currently, it's quite stable, but I went through living heck getting things that way. If they want it to succeed, Tascam needs to adequately fund GS testing and support. As it is, they really seem to be functioning with a skeleton crew. I hope they also find the resources to switch their user forum back on, too. GS 3.0 looks promising, but I think I'll let other folks be the early adopters. Lee Blaske

April, eh? It looks interesting to me, but their press releases and website say nada about a release date. Anyone know about pricing, will it be the same as the recent (lower) giga pricing? For those of us who don't want to wait that long, are they offering any sort of deal to people who buy 2.5 now?
