You can do this in cubase by hitting something like shift+k or shift+L but I cant find the shortcut/action for it in Reaper. I know it has to exist. i used the search to no avail. Little help?

There's actually no explicit action to set the loop points to the selected items. There is an action to set the time selection to the items though. So, if you have the option enabled "loop points linked to time selection", the transport loop points will change also.

hmmh, not really sure how that helps...maybe im misunderstanding.

It's the only way currently to set the transport loop (repeat) points around the selected items via a keyboard shortcut. In main menu Options enable "Loop points linked to time selection". Then when you use the action "Set time selection to selected items" the transport loop points will also be set to the time selection (which now encompasses the selected items). Obviously the downside of this is that you will lose the time selection you previously had. edit : It could also be I am misunderstanding what "loop" exactly you are talking about.

"Set time selection to selected items" ahhhh, that was what i was looking for! yeah, that did the trick perfectly. I just made sure that "Loop points linked to time selection" option was enabled and then set up a shortcut for the "Set time selection to selected items" in the actions. Works like a charm!
