I am new to the digi hardware, but ive been using PT 3.4 on my mac with built-in sound for a few years for basic editing. I now want to move more into production and upgraded my older power computing clone to a 500MHz G3 with 1mb bsc. I bought the Newer technology board because i was told it is the most compatible. My decision now is to either buy an audiomedia III (toolbox xp) or the digi 001. I was going to buy the audiomedia and maybe a cheap midi interface cause all I have now is a sequencer box, and im getting my first keyboard in the near future. Is it worth the extra $ to go with the digi 001 or should I go with the Audiomedia package and upgrade later. Im doing dance music production. Thanks! Adam

Don't forget that you may also need a mic preamp with the AMIII - if you're doing anything requiring a mic. If you want to use any outboard effects or run multiple synths directly into PTLE, you'll need more than 2 analog inputs and/or outputs. Personally, I feel the 001 will give you some growth room. The AMIII is used mainly by people who edit a lot of music and can go in and out digitally. Just my $.02... ------------------ LW

Keep in mind also there is no upgrade path from ToolBox to Digi 001.
